Three years after launching, Dutch Tech Inc. is investing $755,000 over five years to expand its insulation manufacturing operations.
The Lobelville, Tenn., company plans to create 73 jobs during that time, bringing its total employment to about 100 in the economically distressed rural area. Lobelville, with a population of less than 1,000, is about 75 miles southwest of Nashville.
Dutch Tech will probably purchase two film extruders but won't need to immediately expand its 75,000-square-foot facility, CEO Tim Easley said by phone Sept. 29.
Dutch Tech's product, known as Therma Guard, consists of 3 millimeters of closed-cell foam with a metalized polyester film top layer and woven polypropylene bottom layer. The insulation is mainly used for garages and sheds.
