Tessy Plastics LLC has completed a 35,000-square-foot addition to its injection molding, assembly and warehouse space at its Lynchburg, Va., plant.
The $9 million expansion is the fourth at the Lynchburg plant, which is part of Tessy Plastics Corp., based in Skaneateles, N.Y. Tessy announced plans for the expansion early last year.
Tessy expanded to serve an existing customer that awarded the plant a consumer electronics program, said Marc Robinson, business development manager at the Lynchburg facility. He said the company added five new injection molding machines and more room for assembly operations. The expansion can hold another 20 presses, he said.
Tessy Plastics was founded in 1997. The operation specializes in injection molding and automated assembly in the consumer products, medical, personal health care and aerospace industries.
Utilities and resin conveying run underground in trenches in the new expansion.
