After greatly expanding its clean room capacity for medical molding, Tessy Plastics Corp. could be adding even more, as the central New York custom molder is considering a $20 million investment.
The Central New York Regional Economic Development Council has made the Tessy expansion project one of its 30 priority projects for the latest round of state funding. The organization has applied for $4 million of state money for Tessy's project.
Tessy President Roland Beck said the company is working to get more medical work from unnamed customers. The application puts it in the state budget process as a placeholder, but if Tessy does not get awarded the plastics work, the company will not need the funds, he said.
Tessy Plastics is based in Skaneateles, N.Y., in the Syracuse area.
