Textum OPCO LLC will spend almost $5 million to expand in Miami Township, Ohio.
The investment by Belmont, N.C.-based Textum will create 22 new jobs. The firm makes preforms and fabrics for aerospace, defense and other markets. The expansion will include carbon composites derived from Textum's product line of woven broad goods, officials said in a release from state agency JobsOhio.
Officials added that Textum chose the Dayton, Ohio, region because it is home to Wright=Patterson Air Force Base and has a highly capable workforce and strong, existing strategic partnerships.
"There's a clear need for the nation to increase its production capacity for high-temperature composite materials in support of hypersonic systems development and commercial space exploration efforts," Vice President Mike Rauscher said. "We're excited to bring this very high-value technology to the region."
