Magee Plastics Co., a Pennsylvania-based plastics fabricator, has been acquired by Trelleborg Sealing Solutions. The transaction will be finalized in the fourth quarter of 2024.
Trelleborg Sealing has its North American headquarters in Fort Wayne, Ind. Terms were not disclosed.
Magee Plastics focuses on high-performance thermoplastic components for the aerospace industry. The Warrendale, Pa.-based company had 2023 net sales of $22 million, according to Trelleborg.
Magee's plastics capabilities include vacuum forming, pressure forming, compression molding and injection molding, and it processes a wide range of materials including ABS, PVC, polycarbonate, polyphenylene sulfide, polyetherimide, nylon, phenolic and other specialty materials.
Trelleborg Sealing, a division of Trelleborg, Sweden-based Trelleborg AB, moved forward with the acquisition to deal with expected growth in demand within the aerospace industry. Trelleborg specializes in polymer components — including both rubber and plastics — used in demanding applications.
Magee Plastics comes with an FAA-145 certified service workshop, that can support the increase of Trelleborg's aftermarket services.
"The acquisition strengthens Trelleborg's position in the aerospace industry by adding cutting-edge expertise in thermoforming and vacuum forming," said Jürgen Bosch, business area president of Trelleborg Sealing Solutions, in a news release.
"The acquisition also broadens Trelleborg's interior fittings offering for the aerospace industry, which is expected to generate favorable sales synergies."
