Midland, Mich. — Synthetic rubber maker Trinseo is donating $100,000 to help with flood recovery efforts in Midland County, Mich.
"The tragedy has inspired those near and far to pull together and offer support, ensuring that no matter how long the healing process takes, resources will be available for Midland County to emerge stronger than before. Trinseo is committed and proud to support the Midland community and our employees along the road to recovery," Trinseo CEO Frank Bozich said in a statement.
Trinseo, a global company that also makes plastics and latex binders, is evenly splitting the donation between the Midland Area Community Foundation Flood Relief Project Fund and the United Way of Midland County Rise Together Fund.
Trinseo employs more than 230 in Midland, the company's largest North American location.
Along with the $100,000 donation, the company also is helping 11 employee households impacted by the flood, the company said.
Trinseo employees also have been helping with an aid distribution location in Sanford, a community impacted by flooding. They are coordinating supply inventory and delivery from community and state sources. They also teach and manage volunteers. About 60 vehicles use the site each day for essentials including food and water and health, hygiene and cleaning supplies.
Trinseo has production facilities at Dow Inc.'s complex in Midland where the company makes latex and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene.
