Injection molder Venture Plastics Inc. has added a Nissei 950-ton injection molding machine and Zeiss inspection system.
The additions were made at the firm's headquarters site in Newton Falls, Ohio, to meet growing customer demands and stay ahead of market trends, officials said in a news release.
The Nissei 950-ton press has Yushin Automation and a 210-ounce shot capacity. It's designed to support customers in power backup and other industries. The new press brings Venture's total number of presses in Newton Falls to 19, with capacities ranging from 55 to 1,440 tons.
The Zeiss system was added to further enhance quality control, officials said. It combines tactile probing precision with advanced optical measurement technology.
Sales and marketing vice president Alan Schultice said the firm last year installed a Zeiss CMM machine at its plant in El Paso, Texas. That move prompted the decision to add the Zeiss system in Newton Falls, he added.
"This expansion allows us to better serve the growing demand, particularly in the battery sector, which is seeing rapid growth due to the electrification of vehicles and renewable energy advancements," Schultice said.
Venture serves a wide range of markets from its two plants, including transportation, agriculture, appliances, consumer goods, fuel delivery, point-of-purchase and medical. The firm was launched in 1969 in Warren, Ohio, and now operates 82,000 square feet of space in Newton Falls and 60,000 square feet in El Paso.
In late 2022, Venture added a 500-ton Nissei injection molding press in Newton Falls. Officials said at the time the new machine was needed because the site needed because the site was "cramped on capacity."
Venture's annual injection molding sales were estimated at $35 million in the most recent Plastics News ranking of North American injection molders.
