Vinmar International has named Kirt Dmytruk to its Plastics Executive Leadership Team.
Dmytruk has been with Vinmar since 2018. He joined the Houston-based firm as president of Vinmar Polymers America, the firm's U.S./Canadian plastics distribution unit. In early 2023, Dmytruk was appointed president of Vinmar Plastichem Mexico, giving him responsibility for all plastics distribution in North America.
In a news release, Vinmar officials said that Dmytruk's "extensive industry knowledge and unwavering commitment have played a pivotal role in Vinmar's growth and performance."
CEO Vishal Goradia added that Dmytruk's "impressive track record and dedication to our organization and industry align perfectly with our goals, and we look forward to leveraging his expertise."
"I'm humbled, I'm grateful, and I very much look forward to working with everyone," Dmytruk said in the release. He joins current Plastics ELT members Kartik Mehta, Guillermo Ruiz and Ricardo Levy.
Vinmar has made several moves related to sustainability since 2022. In 2023, the firm partnered with Verde Bioresins Inc. to expand its sustainable materials lineup. Vinmar began distributing Verde's PolyEarthylene-brand bioplastics in North America. Los Angeles-based Verde has made its materials at a plant in Fullerton, Calif., since 2019.
Also in 2023, Vinmar acquired controlling interest in Syncot Plastics LLC, a recycler based in Belmont, N.C. Syncot's material mix includes post-industrial and post-consumer nylon, polypropylene and polyethylene.
In 2022, Vinmar bought recycler Green World Compounding of Spain. The firm also has invested in Banyan Nation, a recycler in Hyderabad, India.
Vinmar was founded in 1978 and now has more than 50 offices in more than 35 countries, with sales in more than 110 countries.
