The Washington-based Vinyl Sustainability Council recognized two plastics processors for their recycling and social impact efforts in 2022.
Lisbon, Ohio-based JP Industrial Products received VSC's 2022 Recycling Award for overcoming challenges to recycle window scrap material, improving its screen technology and preventing 100 million pounds of PVC from ending up in a landfill.
Founded in 1989, the company also has operations in Nevada, Texas and North Carolina.
Cary, N.C.-based building products maker Cornerstone Building Brands Inc. received this year's Social Impact Award, which recognizes members that use their resources to have a positive impact.
Cornerstone was honored for its "Home for Good" initiative, which supports affordable housing projects.
Since launching in 2016, the Home for Good has provided more than $2.8 million in exterior building products, such as windows, siding and accessories, to build or remodel some 600 Habitat for Humanity homes in more than 90 communities.
The awards were given out at VSC's annual sustainability summit.
