Peachtree City, Ga. — W. Müller GmbH, a mono- and multilayer extrusion blow molding equipment maker, has announced a partnership with Feuerherm, a manufacturer and supplier for radial wall thickness control systems.
The companies' partnership is built around supporting the service aspects of the companies and W. Müller providing new sales equipment. The two companies have been working closely for a long time as they are located about 15 minutes apart. This announcement is a more formal agreement to their services with each other.
"I thought, 'Why not? Why not do something together and try to take the advantages of both systems under one umbrella and support at least in the Americas?'" said Mario Jardin, director of aftermarket and service for W. Müller.
Before now, the collaboration between the two companies was more of referring customers to each other. The partnership will allow for faster response time, and it is a more cost-effective option. Feuerherm will be able to have W. Müller provide service within the United States, rather than provide service from Germany.
"Müller offers service even for the PWS system, like doing the maintenance, we get the advantage for the customer to have quicker response time in this way," said Lukas Nölle, process engineer and head of training at Feuerherm.
W. Müller will also ship parts directly from its facility for Feuerherm customers.
Feuerherm's Partial Wall Thickness Distribution Systems (PWDS) can offer blow molders flexible, reproducible and modifiable wall thickness control to support efficiency and improve cycle times. W. Müller will be fully trained to support the maintenance of these systems as well as Feuerherm's Static Flexible Deformable Ring.
W. Müller began training its service employees on Feuerherm machines earlier this year, as the conversation about the partnership started at NPE2024 in May. When Feuerherm service employees go to support a customer, a W. Müller service employee will go along and learn on-site.
As of right now, Feuerherm doesn't have any plans to expand in the Americas, which became another reason that the partnership seemed like an obvious choice for both companies.
The companies announced the partnership at the Society of Plastics Engineers Annual Blow Molding Conference in Peachtree City.
