Film extrusion and converting machinery manufacturer Windmöller & Hölscher will host its first virtual expo to introduce new technologies and applications for printers, converters and extruders.
The online event is scheduled for June 24-25 and will consist of technical sessions and 30-minute machine demonstrations from the W&H Printing Innovation Center.
“This is an unprecedented and challenging time. And yet the flexible packaging industry is as busy if not busier than ever. It’s important that we take this opportunity to communicate with our customers and show them the new technologies and applications that are available now and can help run their production more efficiently,” Peter Steinbeck, managing partner at W&H, said in a news release.
W&H will put a spotlight on products it would have exhibited at trade shows that were canceled due to COVID-19.
The three-hour virtual expo will highlight the Novoflex II flexographic press with a new Internet of Things system called Ruby for analyzing production data, as well as the Heliostar II gravure press.
The technical sessions are geared toward various end users. For flexible packaging printers, there’s a session on handling solutions on the Novoflex II with print inspection from Ruby Check.
For industrial sack producers, there’s a session about the hidden potential in production data with Ruby as well as printing for industrial sacks with the Flexa II press and heavy-duty sack film on the Optimex II FFS blown film line.
For film extruders, a session covers polyethylene pouch film on the Varex II blown film line and, again, heavy-duty sack film on the Optimex II FFS blown film line.
The session for paper bag producers will be given by W&H subsidiary, Garant.
The W&H Virtual Expo program will be live streamed several times on both days to accommodate visitors from different countries and time zones.
