Stabio, Switzerland — WM Thermoforming Machines SA (W6181) will exhibit the newest version of its FC1000 thermoforming machines.
The FC1000 IM2 on display will be a 130-ton model, which WM said is the highest throughput per square foot currently available to thermoformers. The machine has an engineered toggle and yoke compensation system, allowing it to run at top speed with high-precision cutting using PET, polypropylene, polylactic acid and biodegradable materials, including paperboard.
The IM2 allows operators to switch easily from forming with in-mold trimming to enable customers to easily switch between forming with in-mold trimming separate trimming.
On its in-line thermoforming equipment, the company offers the option to integrate an Ausil visual inspection system. Artificial intelligence software can detect quality issues such as defective trays, the presence of foreign objects, and punch and die-cutting flaws.
Stabio-based WM noted its three-axis robot provides flexibility and speed with as many as 10 mode settings for various product designs and mold layouts.
The company emphasized that its redesigned software for the FC1000 series offers multiuser access, extended diagnostics and many other features.
Also at the show, WM will present its concept for a new FX1000 model to enhance maximum size and speed. It expects to launch the new model by the end of this year.
