A worker was killed April 5 at a plant operated by Nan Ya Plastics Corp. America in Lake City, S.C.
A male worker identified as 64-year-old Marron Shelton died in a "work related incident" that morning, according to a report on the website of TV station WBTW.
The report cited an April 6 statement from the Florence County Coroner's Office.
Nan Ya makes PET bottle resin as well as polyester fibers and yarn at the plant, according to the firm's website. The business is a unit of materials giant Formosa Plastics Group of Taiwan.
