Leading Chinese manufacturer Yanfeng Automotive Interiors (YFAI) has opened a new plant in the Sumadija district, in Serbia.
With a production area of 18,500 square meters, the new plant employs 180 people and will, at full capacity, create 800 jobs in the coming years.
The “state-of-the-art” facility in Kragujevac will significantly expand the company’s manufacturing capacity in eastern Europe, enabling it to respond to its customers' “increasing presence in the region” according to Tony Elenbaas, vice president and general manager, Europe & South Africa.
Headquartered in Shanghai, Yanfeng also has production plants in Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Globally, it has 110 manufacturing units and technical centers in 20 countries and employs more than 32,000 people.
Yanfeng Automotive Interiors is a joint venture between automotive components giant Yanfeng, and Adient, an Ireland-based automotive seating specialist.
Amongst others, the company manufactures parts for cockpits, instrument panels, door panels, decorative trims and lighting technologies.
