After 30 years in plastics, Chris Cooper is going into business for himself.
In an Oct. 2 LinkedIn post, Cooper said he was starting as an independent salesperson with his own company, CC Independent Sales.
"After thirty years in the business, I feel like I know what customers want and I am able to bring that to them with my business," said Cooper, who's based in Wadsworth, Ohio.
Cooper added that he's working with multiple suppliers and has "a really strong portfolio" of materials. "I want to make it easy for customers to buy material while saving cost … [and] I want to take the headaches out of supply for each customer," he said.
He also said he has "supply sources for just about any engineered material and a great supply source of polypropylene and polyethylene materials also."
In an Oct. 3 post, Cooper listed firms that he has supply arrangements with: distributor California Plastics of Downey, Calif.; distributors Newko Polymers and WestMill Engineered Resins, both of Strongsville, Ohio; and PCR Recycling & Materials of McKinney, Texas.
Cooper most recently worked for WestMill. He also has experience in processing, technical and sales roles with Audia Elastomers, Teknor Apex Co., Radici Group and ExxonMobil Corp.
Cooper began his plastics career in 1993 with blow molder Partners in Plastics. He also served in the U.S. Army from 1986-94.
