Starting next week, Northeast Ohio is the place to be for plastics conferences and trade shows.
(This is a good deal for me, since I live in the Cleveland area.)
Vinyltec 2023 is set for Oct. 10-12 in Akron. The three-day event is co-hosted by the vinyl plastics division of the Society of Plastics Engineers and by the SPE Akron section.
This year's Vinyltec is themed as "positioning vinyl for tomorrow." Organizers said that the conference "is focused on technologies and topics of importance to the vinyl plastics industry." The event features more than 30 presentations and more than 20 tabletop exhibits.
Later this month, the 2023 SPE Thermoforming Conference takes place in Cleveland. Organizers said the three-day event Oct. 24-26 "is the premier event for the exchange of advances in thermoforming where the newest techniques and the latest trends in machinery, materials and equipment are unveiled."
The conference offers educational sessions and technical workshops, as well as a parts competition, a student remote-controlled car race and an exhibit hall with more than 40 companies.
A few weeks later, Applied Market Information (AMI) Ltd. will host a four-in-one conference in Cleveland. The two-day event (Nov. 15-16) incorporates the Compounding World, Plastics Recycling World, Plastics Extrusion World Expo and Polymer Testing World conferences and exhibits.
Organizers said the events "bring together decision makers from each stage of the supply chain." More than 300 exhibitors will be on hand at the combined event.
That's three events in five weeks in a plastics-heavy part of the U.S. Here's a free marketing idea: T-shirts that read "THE RUST BELT IS NOW THE PLASTICS BELT." You heard it here first!
