Plastics market veteran Pratik Shah has joined Aurora Material Solutions as president of engineered thermoplastics.
Streetsboro, Ohio-based Aurora formed the segment in 2024, when Aurora acquired EnCom Polymers Inc. and combined it with Enviroplas Inc., which had been acquired in late 2022.
In a news release, officials said Shah will be responsible for leading the ETP business segment, accelerating growth both organically and through acquisition. He'll also manage EBITDA growth, drive value creation, optimize operations and build a high-performing team, they added.
Shah has almost 20 years of market experience, most recently as vice president and business manager for engineering plastics and elastomers at Teknor Apex Co. His career also includes roles at Nycoa, LyondellBasell, Arkema and EMS Chemie.
Shah holds a master's degree in plastics engineering from the University of Massachusetts Lowell and a bachelor's degree in polymer engineering and technology from the University Department of Chemical Technology Mumbai, India.
Aurora has made seven acquisitions since 2017, the most recent one coming in December 2024 when it bought Lastique International Corp., a plastics recycler and reseller based in Louisville, Ky. Officials said Lastique is one of North America's largest recyclers of rigid PVC.
In August, Aurora completed an expansion at its headquarters site in Streetsboro. The project increased annual PVC compounding capacity at the site by more than 140 million pounds and created several new jobs.
Aurora has been majority owned since 2021 by investment firm Nautic Partners of Providence, R.I.
