Flexible packaging maker Bryce Corp. is expanding in Arkansas, a move that will create 142 new jobs.
The $80 million project involves construction of a new manufacturing site and distribution center in Searcy, where the company has maintained operations for decades.
Bryce opened the company's first location in Searcy in 1976 with 29 employees. By the end of last year, the company had grown to 465 workers in the community. Manufacturing space over 45 years has grown from 30,000 to 350,000 square feet.
And now there will be more.
"These are transformational and generational commitments that we are excited to make in Searcy as we transition into the fourth and look forward to the fifth generation of family leadership," Bryce President Sean Bowie, a fourth-generation Bryce family member.
Bryce, based in Memphis, Tenn., serves the food, snack, pet, household, and health and beauty segments.
