An injection molder of plastic caps, lids and jars is rebranding as MRP Solutions from Mold-Rite Packaging.
"The decision to rebrand the company came with a decision to recommit ourselves to an industry that we know is going through a dynamic time," CEO Jim Fitzgerald said in a video released by the company Sept. 29.
"We evaluated options we knew would capture the essence of not only who we were and who we are but who we know we need to be going forward," he said. "We know our customers count on us to provide products and services that enable their products to deliver market-leading benefits.
"Our decision to be MRP Solutions reflects our commitment to our customers and the industry and to the role that we expect to play going forward," Fitzgerald said.
Prior to being Mold-Rite Packaging, the company previously was known by its legal name Mold-Rite Plastics LLC. MRP Solutions has manufacturing sites in Plattsburg, N.Y., Somerset, N.J., and Twinsburg, Ohio.
News of the rebranding comes about two months after MRP Solutions unveiled plans to expand the Twinsburg facility by 33,600 square feet, creating space to eventually add 12 to 15 injection molding machines over time.
"It's just an investment to allow us to keep up with the growth requirements of the business itself," Fitzgerald said at the time. "It's our second expansion in the last two-and-a-half years now. It's about allowing us to stay ahead of the industry demand and customer requirements for growth."
MRP Solutions was purchased in 2021 by private equity firm Clearlake Capital Group LP. Clearlake also owns blow molder Pretium Packaging LLC and just recently took tape, film and packaging maker Intertape Polymer Group Inc. private.
The company, through the new name, wants to be seen as more than just a supplier.
"This mission obligates us to do more than just be a supply chain participant. It commits us to being a supply chain partner," Fitzgerald said. "It also commits us to a purpose. Packaging with a purpose. That purpose is to recognize that industry trends are changing. That purpose is to recognize that customer needs are evolving. And that purpose is to recognize that our ability to do more starts with our willingness to do things differently."
