Packaging distributor Novvia Group is acquiring Rios Containers in a move that bolsters the company's West Coast presence.
St. Louis-based Novvia said Rios Containers distributes plastic and metal bottles, cans, drums, lids and "other rigid packaging products."
Rios Containers, founded in 1987 by Al Rios, has a 20,000-square-foot building in Santa Fe Springs, Calif. Siblings Andrew Rios and Annie Van Scoy have managed the family business.
"The acquisition further bolsters Novvia's presence on the West Coast and will be combined with Rhino Container, Novvia's Chino, [Calif.]-based rigid packaging subsidiary, which Novvia acquired in December 2021," the company said in a statement.
Novvia is owned by private equity firm Kelso & Co. Other packaging distribution firms owned by Novvia include Inmark, C.L. Smith, Silver Spur, Container Supply, Fox Valley, Rhino, Novvia Canada, Southern Container, Duval Container and Auberst.
