Production is starting at Orbis Corp.'s new reusable packaging manufacturing site in Greenville, Texas, as additional details emerge about the project.
The location includes 420,000 square feet for manufacturing and another 240,000 square feet for warehouse space, the maker of plastic totes and pallets said.
Orbis will phase in production at the facility, work that will include placement of 16 presses this year. There is room for additional equipment in the future.
Full production in Greenville is expected this spring, and Orbis expects more than 190 new jobs will be created at the location within three years.
"This project brings us much needed capacity and space to support the growing needs of our customers who are turning to reusable packaging to add supply chain efficiency and sustainability," Orbis President Norm Kukuk said in a statement. "It enables us to drive the further use of reusable packaging in the circular economy, better serve our customers by increasing our production capacity, and expand our geographic reach to deliver to customers faster."
Greenville is about 50 miles northeast of Dallas.
Oconomowoc, Wis.-based Orbis is a subsidiary of Menasha Corp.
