CHINAPLAS
Injection molding machine makers are investing to localize production, research and development to serve global customers nearby instead of relying on exports.
Investments from Asia-based machinery manufacturers in research and development have paid off with energy savings and niche machine features "at a fraction of the price" of their competitors, regional industry leaders say.
Chinaplas, the world's largest annual plastics trade show, has officially canceled this year and rescheduled for April 2023. The show had been set for Shanghai April 25-28.
The Chinaplas 2022 trade fair said March 18 it's postponing the event because of tighter COVID-19 control measures in Shanghai. No new date was announced.
Environmental developments like resins with recycled content or made from non-fossil fuel sources were on full display at Chinaplas, held in mid-April in Shenzhen.
We all hope the (trade) show will go on, but I wonder, just what will those events look like? Crowded aisles and booths? Handshakes? Giveaways? It's hard to picture anything like that happening at this point, unless a vaccine or cure is quickly found.
The huge Chinaplas trade show is canceled for 2020, organizers announced April 24. The next edition of the event will be as previously planned, in April 2021 in Shenzhen, they said.
The show originally was scheduled for April 21-24, but it was delayed because of the coronavirus epidemic. The venue for the fair has not changed; it will be at the NECC in Shanghai.
Chinaplas 2020 may be delayed until sometime in the third quarter of this year as organizers monitor the impact of the coronavirus epidemic while also balancing the logistics of running the biggest plastics show scheduled for this year.
