Over the years, Engel has increasingly pursued a strategy of providing both local and global solutions and is now establishing a hub structure in each of its major regional markets: the Americas, Europe and Asia.
During the six years between NPE trade shows, York, Pa.-based Engel North America expanded its operations with a new automation center, added an apprentice program and increased its workforce by more than 50 to 260 employees in the United States and Canada.
The Austria-based injection press maker plans to have the plant up and running by the fall of 2025.
"Get connected" — with this motto, ENGEL connects experts with machine solutions and the corresponding technologies at Fakuma from October 17th to 21st.
The machine builder delivers 350-400 robots and automation products to U.S. and Canadian customers every year.
Two of the giant injection molding machines installed at the Infiltrator Water Technologies LLC plant in Winchester, Ky., are the largest presses ever built at the St. Valentin, Austria, plant of Engel Austria GmbH.
With demand growing for robots and integrated system solutions, injection molding machine manufacturer Engel Group is spending 11 million euros ($11.6 million) to update and expand its plant in Dietach, Austria.
"The labor pool is tight and there aren't enough qualified people for all of us. We need to grow our own," Terri Fanz-Falzone, Engel North America's vice president of human resources, said.
Graduates in the training program tweaked for North America get paid, earn nationally recognized journeyman's certificate and receive a full-time job offer from Engel upon completion.
Stefan Engleder: "We are continuing to invest in photovoltaics and projects are underway to reduce compressed air consumption and recover heat from production processes."
