Huhtamaki: Huhtam„ki Oyj
Finland's Huhtamäki Oyj said July 2 that it bought Pure-Stat Technologies Inc., a small U.S. manufacturer of laminate used in its molded fiber packaging, for 6 million euros ($6.6 million).
The European Commission (EC) has fined a group of European packaging manufacturers and distributors a total of 115.9 million euros ($129.1 million) for having participated in “at least one of five separate cartels” across the Continent.
For Huhtamäki Oyj, the decision to buy flexible packaging maker Positive Packaging is all about going where its customers are heading.
Huhtamaki Oyj has sold a non-core, commodity food-service business in Italy.
