A Pactiv Evergreen Michigan facility that produces food and beverage packaging will close this spring, eliminating 133 jobs.
The decision will impact 57 workers in that portion of the facility, which will otherwise remain open, the company said.
The auction's feature items include KraussMaffei and Engel injection molding machines, Wittmann, Engel and KraussMaffei molding automation, various plastic auxiliary equipment, tool room and material handling equipment.
A Wisconsin plastics firm has agreed to pay $60,000 to a former employee to settle a lawsuit from the federal government that it did not properly address racial harassment in the workplace.
The job cuts and cost reduction will be "very targeted at lower-margin regions," Dow CFO Jeff Tate said. When asked if that included high-cost operations in Europe, Tate replied "that's a fair assumption."

The majority of the 54 employees will be laid off and the facility will be shuttered at the end of June.

Auto supplier Inoac Exterior Systems LLC is beginning layoffs resulting from the eventual closing of its Fremont, Ohio, plant, with a mass reduction of 174 employees.
