Today we have news on some end-of-2024 M&A activity in the plastics materials sector, plus a potential new entrant in the PVC resin market.
First up, Chroma Color Corp. is back on the acquisition trail, buying Corona, Calif.-based Spectra Color Inc. Next, after 16 years of operating as a joint venture, Americas Styrenics LLC is for sale. A spokesperson for Americas Styrenics partner Chevron Phillips Chemical confirmed the move in an email to Plastics News.
Finally, chemicals and ammunition maker Olin Corp. is considering several options to enter the North American PVC resin market. Options include forming partnerships with existing PVC producers, entering the market through acquisition, or building a PVC plant on the U.S. Gulf Coast.
