Enka de Colombia SA has been recycling plastic in South America for 10 years, initially as a feedstock for its textile operations.
Today the company is focused on circularity, namely bottle-to-bottle recycling, and it’s opening a $40 million PET recycling plant. In this week’s Material Insights, Don Loepp talked with Pablo Marin, Enka’s quality manager, about the challenges of setting up a plastics recycling business in a country that has an underdeveloped recycling collection infrastructure.
