Nova Chemicals and Novolex are getting ready to open a mechanical recycling facility for plastic film in Connersville, Ind.
Plastics News Senior Reporter Frank Esposito toured the plant last week and talked with Nova Chemicals President and CEO Roger Kearns.
Kearns called film recycling “a key growth area” for Nova, and described the plant as one of the largest and most sophisticated film recycling plants in the world.
The facility will reprocess more than 100 million pounds of film per year, for food and non-food applications, by 2026.
In other news, North American PVC buyers saw a 2 cent per pound price increase in February.
