Orlando, Fla. — There's more to Orlando than convention halls and theme parks. Although you may not have much time during the day, tourism officials here have some ideas about where you can spend your down time.
Since the last NPE, the Michelin restaurant guide has come to Orlando and more than 40 restaurants now have received a star, says Visit Orlando's Mike Waterman.
Expanding entertainment districts have brought restaurants within a few blocks of the Orange County Convention Center. And if you need to get a taste of the theme parks, both Disney Springs and Universal CityWalk are free to access and within a 20-minute drive from the convention center.
And for anyone extending a visit, Waterman points to Brightline, a high-speed train service that opened its Orlando station in 2023, offering quick access to beach tows on the Atlantic Ocean, including Miami.
