The North American resin market saw notable price declines in October, with polyethylene and PET bottle resin leading the trend, according to senior reporter Frank Esposito. Reduced demand and elevated inventories were the cause of the PE resin price drop.
Other commodity resins, including PVC, polypropylene, and polystyrene, also recorded price drops. These changes are attributed to seasonal slowdowns, lower construction activity, and declining raw material costs such as benzene for polystyrene production.
