North America resin demand has been sluggish, but that hasn’t stopped some prices from rising in early 2024. And now most North American polyethylene producers have 5-cent price increases on the table for February and 3 cents for March.
In our February Polymer Points Live, Senior Reporter Frank Esposito talked about market conditions, including export trends and low natural gas prices, and discussed whether those February increases are likely to take hold.
Other topics covered in the livestream include the reasons behind a 5 cent per pound decrease in PET bottle resin pricing, decreases for polystyrene, and the impact of higher virgin PE pricing on that market for recycled plastics.
The next Polymer Points Live is scheduled for Tuesday, March 19.
