Polypropylene buyers saw a surprising 2-cent-per-pound price decrease in May, but some buyers wondered why resin prices haven’t been falling even faster.
In the June Polymer Points editorial livestream, senior reporter Frank Esposito talked about the PP market, including the impact of feedstock disruptions, resin plant operating rates and the changing supply and demand picture.
In the livestream, Esposito noted that while many commodity resin prices have been less volatile as we enter the summer, a variety of factors could lead to bigger changes in July and August.
He also recapped pricing activity for other resins including polyethylene, polystyrene, PVC and PET. The next Polymer Points livestream is scheduled for Thursday, July 25.
