Polypropylene prices had a dramatic decrease in September; and PET bottle resin also decreased by 3 cents. The drop in polypropylene prices follows increased production of polymer-grade propylene, a key feedstock, as U.S. production rates rose from 80 percent to 85 percent. PET prices also saw a reduction, influenced by seasonal factors like cooler weather leading to lower beverage demand.
