Kelsey Hedspeth Brewer's exposure and interest in injection molding began at an early age; her father was a design engineer for Asheboro, N.C.-based Technimark LLC.
"Growing up, I was always excited to see things my dad designed or Technimark made on the store shelves. The pride and impact of being involved in household products across the world coupled with my passion for planning, organizing, analyzing and leading teams to a successful execution made my decision to enter the plastics manufacturing industry as a project manager an easy one," she said.
Hedspeth Brewer earned a bachelor's degree in systems engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and started as an intern before becoming a project manager. She also obtained her Certified Associate in Project Management and Project Management Professional certifications.
"My responsibilities as project manager at Technimark LLC include planning and monitoring and controlling during the execution phase and managing communication (written and verbal) with the customer, team members and internal management. Projects can consist of design and development of a new product or technology, implementation and production of a customer's current product or design as well as continuous improvement opportunities and sustainability initiatives," she said.
In her spare time, Hedspeth Brewer is involved with Roaring Riot, a community of Carolina Panthers fans who tailgate and raise funds for unique opportunities for others; Civitan International, a club that volunteers and serves local schools, families and assisted living facilities; and a town revitalization committee that recently established an annual music in the park event and cornhole tournament to bring the city together.
"My personal mold I'm breaking is the mold of a seemingly quiet, timid, young female being a successful project manager, leader [and] problem-solver," she said. "I also feel that I'm breaking the mold of a female who was only hired because of her father and have worked to prove myself, the value I can bring to the company and establish my seat at the table each day."
